Heard the weather in Sg was not too well on X'mas eve, pouring heavily there.
It's super duper warm in Penang though so we spent most of the time just chilling at home. ๐
My Christmas Eve
Started our Christmas Eve morning with a morning movie.
No prizes for guessing right which movie we went for hahaha ๐
We must have attracted some stares from passerby but we didn't really care haha
My whole family is crazy over "this" now.. ๐๐
Even the youngest one got affected by the craze ๐
They deserted the F1 sports cars I got for them the moment they saw these.. Tsk tsk..
Still can't let go of the lightsaber when he's a communist soldier ๐
Managed to complete my Christmas shopping on the eve. Phew!
Ya, talk about last minute. ๐ ๐
I got lazy this year and didn't even bother to wrap up some of the pressies. Oops ๐๐
We had a cosy dinner at home with homecooked food prepared by my SIL and mum while we were out shopping.
Too bad both me and sis weren't competent enough to inherit my grandma's and mum's ๅฎถไผ ่. ๐
This is a dish which was passed down from generations. Apparently it has to be cooked only with a certain of fish to acquire the desired pungent.
Love this dish btw, it's been ages since I last ate this. Good that my SIL has mastered this dish now. ๐
Gotta be super patient to eat this though as this type of fish has lots of tricky bones. ๐
I was very disciplined to wait till midnight to unwrap these. ๐
Still have some to unwrap when I'm back in Singapore. ๐

Nyonya cuisine plays a big part in the food we ate since we were young as my grandma and my mum are pure nyonyas.
I'm only a 50% nyonya, truly a failed one as I can't bake, I can't sew and I can't cook. ๐๐๐

Had our Christmas dinner at a little restaurant which we had patroned since we were still a kid.
It's still as nolstagic as before.
Very simple homecooked dishes.. But they never fail to disappoint us.
Business is still as brisk as before.
A few volunteers came into the restaurants to sell roses for charity.
Today happened to be my bro's 18th anniversary so the roses came in handy. ๐
Three years ago on my birthday, my second bro chose to hold his wedding.
So the roses came in handy again.
As you can see, December is really a very celebratory month for my family. ๐

If I have my own kid one day, I shall advocate no gadgets during dining time, well at least only for photography (cos I can't eat without taking pic of my food ๐), no games or cartoon for sure.
